Description
Pieces in this series focus on scenes and objects in nature, which are specifically identified in the title - in this case, orange and brown seagrape leaves and one of those orange mesh plastic construction fences. From these natural, original photographic elements, arise the artist's additional interpretations through creative abstract digital exploration.
Here, intentional camera movement on a diagonal accomplishes the abstraction I was after and introduces a feeling of speed, by the elements viewed and by the viewer as well. Yes, just a bit of "cheat" here with the construction fence, which is certainly not a natural element, but the combination of the human made and the natural in this case pleased me. The camera movement technique always surprises and creates something unique each time it is employed. One simply would never be able to achieve identical images this way, and that is definitely part of the attraction.
While abstract art doesn't specifically represent external reality, but exists somewhat independently of it and may seek to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures, it can, as in the case of this art piece, take specific realistic elements as springboards for creative excursions - emotionally and metaphorically.
