Description
The two giraffes, one looking west and one looking at the viewer, are seen from necks to heads. With one behind the other, creating this V shape, and backed by the blue sky and fluffy clouds, they look like two parts of the same fantastical animal. The giraffe's scientific name, Giraffa camelopardalis, refers to its shape, which was felt to be similar to a camel's, and its spots, which were felt to be similar to a leopard's.
