The soaring high-rise buildings of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as seen in this black and white detailed view create an intricate pattern of overlapping rectangular designs. From this angle, no street is evident between the two major architectural elements, and they seem to be of a fascinating piece. The overlap of all elements in the cityscape creates a sort of optical illusion that the eye delights in sorting out. I've thought that this image would make for a great jigsaw puzzle, if one that might make you slightly crazy before you finished it.
Although much of my career had been in editing and writing, I have been delighted for some time to concentrate on both photography and artistic creations based on photography. Through this medium I thoroughly enjoy the world, from city to suburb to country, from my roots in the US Midwest to fascinating Florida, to Ohio, where I now live. My artistic interests are eclectic. Much engages me. I hope my art will please and engage you as well.
