Artist's Description

In downtown Ft. Myers, Florida, on Hendry St.,the Art Deco colors and style of the Edison Theatre stand out. The theater was built in the early 1940s and was part of the Paramount chain. It was named in honor of the famous inventor and scientist Thomas Alva Edison and was popular among the locals until 1980, when it was renovated and transformed into an office building

About Mitch Spence

Mitch Spence

Although much of my career had been in editing and writing, I have been delighted for some time to concentrate on both photography and artistic creations based on photography. Through this medium I thoroughly enjoy the world, from city to suburb to country, from my roots in the US Midwest to fascinating Florida, to Ohio, where I now live. My artistic interests are eclectic. Much engages me. I hope my art will please and engage you as well.
