Description

The emerald tree boa constrictor (Corallus caninus) is very close, indeed. The view of the head shows the beauty of the green, pink, and yellow scales. The eye is bright and alert and focused precisely on the viewer. The colorful snake seems to be emerging from the deep shadows, heightening the drama of the gorgeous detail and coloration. These snakes inhabit wet lowland rain forests of South America. They are found in the canopy and the understory of the rain forest and are reported to be most common in branches overhanging bodies of water.
