Description
Two golden-bellied mangabeys (Cercocebus chrysogaster) are engrossed in their grooming - a parent, probably, and a youngster. The adult bends over to facilitate the young one's exploration of the hair on the back. These social primates are old world, African, monkeys, found in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in dense, swampy, humid forests. They are rarely seen in the wild or photographed there and are known primarily from their behavior in captivity.
