Description
The Haywood County Courthouse on Main Street in the historic district of Waynesville, North Carolina, is an impressive building built in 1932. It's a three-story, ashlar stone veneered rectangular building in the Classical Revival style. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The county, in the western part of North Carolina, is an area of great natural Appalachian mountain beauty and includes 46 miles of scenic drives along the famous Blue Ridge Parkway and access to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. This dramatic view shows some storm clouds gathering in the background and the bright American flag flying in contrast to the gray stones behind it.
