Description
The spoon is just about to extract a succulent bite of the delicious yellow kiwi fruit. A bit of juice lies in the spoon's bowl, and we can nearly taste the treat to come.
Rich in nutrients, including vitamin C, and health benefits, the kiwi flesh may be green or golden, as here, and is about the size of a large hen's egg. Originally called the Chinese gooseberry, it grew wild on woody vines in China. It was introduced to New Zealand in 1904, and New Zealanders called it kiwi after their national bird.
