The Lightner Museum is a well-known destination in the historic city of St. Augustine, Florida. Here, looking down from one of the levels of the museum, one sees the elegant restaurant housed in the structure. Its spacious seating area brings to mind the culture and gentility of another age. The photographic handling of this image is meant to recall the era from which the hotel comes with grain and subtle tones reminiscent of the photographs of the time. The restaurant's name is Cafe Alcazar, and it lists its services as a refined, white-tablecloth lunch option in the Lightner Museum, offering refined New American fare.
The Lightner Museum is a museum of antiquities, mostly American Gilded Age pieces, housed within the historic Hotel Alcazar building.
Although much of my career had been in editing and writing, I have been delighted for some time to concentrate on both photography and artistic creations based on photography. Through this medium I thoroughly enjoy the world, from city to suburb to country, from my roots in the US Midwest to fascinating Florida, to Ohio, where I now live.
