Description
The strawberry dart frog (Oophaga pumilio) is a tiny little fellow, as seen here in relation to the pencil he's sitting on. The adult frog is just over a half inch to just smaller than an inch long. The frog lives in rainforest habitats. Although they often live in leaf litter on the forest floor, they do also climb trees and vines. Although the frogs are often bright red, there is much color variation in the species, as with this yellow specimen. While the animal is poison (toxic to anything trying to eat it), it is not venomous, that is, it does not bite or sting or transfer venom in any way.

Fantastic image, love the diagonal
Mitch Spence replied:
Thank you, Terri. It's hard to show just how teeny these little guys are without something like the pencil to relate to.
