Artist's Description

And in the great scheme of things, it probably wasn't all that long since the chamber pot (or chamberpot) was a fixture in bedrooms. (For those unfamiliar with this convenience, it was used as a toilet, especially at night, before indoor plumbing was the norm.) Here the quaint but fancy pot is in white china, with its own lid. It's positioned on the floor at the bottom of a metal framed bed covered in a white spread. Other names for this accessory are piss pot, potty, and thunder pot.

About Mitch Spence

Mitch Spence

Although much of my career had been in editing and writing, I have been delighted for some time to concentrate on both photography and artistic creations based on photography. Through this medium I thoroughly enjoy the world, from city to suburb to country, from my roots in the US Midwest to fascinating Florida, to Ohio, where I now live. My artistic interests are eclectic. Much engages me. I hope my art will please and engage you as well.
