Description
The sunset turns the light golden as it shines on three sanderlings (Calidris alba) and the foam of the incoming waves. Shore visitors will be familiar with these energetic little birds that always seem to be running busily a few inches in front of the incoming surf as they chase their tiny prey left by the receding water. The birds are long distance migrants and breed only in the far north but are winter residents far to the south all over the world. These particular birds were found at Gasparilla Island State Park on the southwest coast of Florida.

It's as favorite bird of mine as well, and this image is a special favorite too. So, I'm delighted that it appeals to you.
