Restored in 1925, Oak Alley Plantation lies on the banks of the Mississippi in Vacherie, Louisiana, and is a National Historic Landmark. You will often see images of the mansion, a popular tourist destination, from the far end of the tunnel of live oaks you see here. This view, however, is from the entrance of the mansion looking west, toward the Mississippi, which is on the other side of the levee at the end of the oak tunnel and across a fronting road.
Although much of my career had been in editing and writing, I have been delighted for some time to concentrate on both photography and artistic creations based on photography. Through this medium I thoroughly enjoy the world, from city to suburb to country, from my roots in the US Midwest to fascinating Florida, to Ohio, where I now live. My artistic interests are eclectic. Much engages me. I hope my art will please and engage you as well.
