Antigua, Guatemala (la Antigua) is a city in the central highlands of Guatemala famous for its well-preserved Spanish Baroque-influenced architecture as well as a number of ruins of colonial churches. It served as the capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Antigua serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name. The view is through the famous Arch of Santa Catalina,connecting two parts of the old Convent. One of the three volcanoes surrounding the city, Volcan de Agua, volcano of water, over 12,000 feet high, is in the background.
Although much of my career had been in editing and writing, I have been delighted for some time to concentrate on both photography and artistic creations based on photography. Through this medium I thoroughly enjoy the world, from city to suburb to country, from my roots in the US Midwest to fascinating Florida, to Ohio, where I now live. My artistic interests are eclectic. Much engages me. I hope my art will please and engage you as well.
