Artist's Description
A single stylized cormorant ((Phalacrocorax auritus) poses on a branch while contemplating the colorful, rainbow-like sky beyond, against which the near silhouetted and textured dark branch and bird contrast. The artistic creation is based on my original photograph, which has been creatively interpreted in this scene in a minimalist fashion. Cormorants are common across North America.

Although much of my career had been in editing and writing, I have been delighted for some time to concentrate on both photography and artistic creations based on photography. Through this medium I thoroughly enjoy the world, from city to suburb to country, from my roots in the US Midwest to fascinating Florida, to Ohio, where I now live.
