Three pigeons sit quietly on a wire, backed by the blue sky. Two of the pigeons are dark, and one, in the center, is a nearly white variant. The inherent message seemed clear to me. This calm and peace should, of course, be mirrored among the varying representatives of the human race. The fact that it often is not is at the heart of so many of the world's problems. The quotation here, from Maya Angelou says a truth that all should attend to: "It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength."
Although much of my career had been in editing and writing, I have been delighted for some time to concentrate on both photography and artistic creations based on photography. Through this medium I thoroughly enjoy the world, from city to suburb to country, from my roots in the US Midwest to fascinating Florida, to Ohio, where I now live. My artistic interests are eclectic. Much engages me. I hope my art will please and engage you as well.
