Description
The spectacular New Main Street Bridge in Columbus, Ohio, is seen here at dusk with its beautiful lights mirrored in the Scioto River below and with the lighted buildings of the city skyline as background. It is a 700 ft, three-span, inclined arch suspension bridge. The bridge was completed in 2010 at a cost of over sixty million dollars. The bridge it replaced, built in 1937, was deemed unsafe and closed in 2002. This bridge, the fifth in the world and the first in North America to inclined single-rib-tied arch superstructure, was designed by Spiro Pollalis, professor of design technology and management at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design.

Marian, thank you. Much appreciated. The design of this bridge is quite impressive, especially at dusk.
