This osprey (Pandion haliaetus), backed by a gorgeous sky full of white clouds, perches on the very tip of the single branch of a tall dead tree. One wonders how the bird can hold on to this very small area on which it has both its feet grasping the branch tip. It's certainly an unusual choice for a perch but one that the bird seems comfortable with, although its shoulders are hunched forward to balance. The osprey looks out regally as though surveying its kingly domain.
