The stylized horse is reminiscent of the mythical Pegasus and spreads its wings wide as it looks, perhaps in awe and perhaps in hope, toward the hugeness of space beyond. Stars sparkle and a planet or the moon is partially lighted in this unique conceptual composite. It had its beginning long ago with a wire sculpture I saw in the Denver International Airport. I thought about that pose for a long time, years actually, after that and it slowly grew in my mind how I wanted to present the idea of aspiration, hope, optimism, and looking to the future.
Although much of my career had been in editing and writing, I have been delighted for some time to concentrate on both photography and artistic creations based on photography. Through this medium I thoroughly enjoy the world, from city to suburb to country, from my roots in the US Midwest to fascinating Florida, to Ohio, where I now live. My artistic interests are eclectic. Much engages me. I hope my art will please and engage you as well.
