In this artwork, the beautiful cat stares directly at the viewer with its mesmerizing golden eyes and steady regard.The regal Florida panther (Puma concolor coryi) is a subspecies of the American cougar and is one of the most endangered animals on the planet through habitat loss and interactions with automobiles. It inhabits the forests and swamps of the state, but probably fewer than 150 remain in the wild.

Although much of my career had been in editing and writing, I have been delighted for some time to concentrate on both photography and artistic creations based on photography. Through this medium I thoroughly enjoy the world, from city to suburb to country, from my roots in the US Midwest to fascinating Florida, to Ohio, where I now live.
