Description
In this intimate painting, the wolf's head is cocked in curiosity. The gaze of the mesmerizing, intelligent golden eyes is direct and connected to the viewer. This beautiful, endangered animal speaks to us silently.
The gray wolf, Canis lupus, is also known as the timber wolf or western wolf. It's native to wilderness areas, and the carnivores hunt in packs for large prey, such as deer, elk, or bison and will eat smaller prey such as rodents as well and may sometimes be scavengers. They're called keystone predators because they help to establish a balanced ecosystem. They demonstrate deep affection and strong social bonds.
