Description
Dainty Bess is a lovely little pink hybrid tea rose. This artistic treatment of the bloom shows the delicate details of an open flower. Behind that, in soft pastels are leaves, echos of similar blooms, and a background of gentle, muted pinks and greens. This pretty specimen was found in the rose garden of the Ringling Estate in Sarasota, Florida. This rose garden is over a hundred years old. The rose bush, of course, is not, as rose bushes generally don't last longer than 10 to 15 years. The garden is repopulated, however, with original types when possible. The Dainty Bess variety was hybridized in 1925.
