Description
The little blue heron (Egretta caerulea) is in the process of losing the white feathers of its youth (when it resembles a snowy egret) and transitioning to its adult blue-gray feather color. These birds are residents of wetlands and coastal areas in the southeast region of the United States. This individual was fishing at Lakes Regional Park in Lee County, Florida, near Ft. Myers.
