Description
This plant, Kalanchoe daigremontiana, is called mother of thousands (sometimes millions) because all those beautiful little things you see on the plants edges are plantlets, which actually grow on the mother plant's arms and that will propagate this plant, seemingly by the thousands and seemingly so effectively that you can't stop it. I thought this stem from this particular specimen was quite beautiful against the purple painted piece of sidewalk over which it stretched. Other names for the plant are devil's backbone, alligator plant, and Mexican hat plant. This succulent plant is native to Madagascar.
